Lacrosse Trip.

The lacrosse team lost one of its games and tied the other on its recent trip, but the team as a whole showed marked improvement over last year. The men whom they faced in the Lehigh game had had the advantage of professional coaching and showed this in the team play of their attack which the Harvard team was unable to break up. The experience and practice gained in the two games should be of material benefit to the team and the trip as a whole proved a decided success.

In the game with Swarthmore, which resulted in a tie, 1 to 1, Harvard's attack was much superior to her defense, while Swarthmore's attack was rather weak. Patton scored the one goal for Swarthmore in the first half after ten minutes of play. Harvard scored later when Captain Burley made a clever catch and passed the ball to Ring, who shot the goal. In the second half Harvard had the ball at one time almost through Swarthmore's goal but failed to score.

Lehigh won their game through superior team play. Harvard's stick work and sprinting was fair but there was a noticeable lack of team work. The defense put up a good game, Sands blocking several shots at goal. Woods and Captain Burley also played well. Harvard's one goal was made by Burley on a pass from Ring. The score was five to one in Lehigh's favor.
