PI ETA PLAY.

First Graduates' Night Performance in the New Theatre.

The first performance of "Fool's Gold" took place last evening before the graduates, who taxed the capacity of the new theatre to its utmost.

The occasion was one of great significance to the society for it marked the growth of the Pi Eta into a theatre of its own and into quarters more befitting the high position it has attained. The graduates who sat in the new theatre expressed their gratification in enthusiastic terms not only in praise of the theatre but also of the play, which throughout was an entire success.

The performance was in every way an improvement over the dress rehearsal of Thursday evening. At the close of the first act the curtain had to be raised five times before the graduates were satisfied. A number of speeches were made between acts, congratulating the club on its progress.

The best acting of the evening was done by T. L. Holmes '99 as Duke de Grabo, F. E. Barry '97 as Blustro, and A. B. Cunningham '97 as Passata.
