The lacrosse squad has now been practicing outdoors every afternoon for several weeks. The number of candidates is still between thirty and forty; no reduction will be made for some time, as several positions will have to be filled with new men. The men as a whole are doing well, and the chance of a winning team is better than usual.
The daily practice consists of passing and catching, after which the first and second teams play a game. Norton's Field will be used hereafter for practice, as Holmes Field is now taken by the baseball teams. H. M. Williams '85, captain of the championship lacrosse team, is helping with the coaching, and Captain Burley soon expects to have a Canadian coach for the team.
H. C. Ring '99, manager of the team, has arranged a series of games to be played with other strong lacrosse clubs. Besides the games announced in the Crimson of March 19, there will be a game in Cambridge the last part of this month with the Boston Lacrosse Team, one about May first with Dummer Academy of Newburyport, and one about the first part of June with Toronto University.
