NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The annual debate between the Harvard Union and the Prospect Union Debating Club was held last night in Sever 11. The speaking was, on the whole, very good.

The question for debate was: "Resolved, That the United States should take prompt action towards the peaceful annexation of Cuba." The Prospect Union upheld the affirmative. The speakers were: For the Prospect Union, Messrs. Pearson, Almorth and McMaster; for the Harvard Union, F. O. White '99, H. F. Robinson '98 and H. W. Beal '97. Each speaker was allowed a five-minute speech in rebuttal.

The Prospect Union team presented a s: rong and connected argument. Though they spoke with less ease than their opponents, they were very strong in rebuttal, especially in their closing speeches. The speeches of the Union were on the whole strong both in matter and in form.
