Weld Crews.

The last squads of candidates for the Weld crews have left the Gymnasium and are now training on the river. The first crews from each class are rowing in eight-oar barges, and the other candidates are training in four-oar barges, pair-oars and singles. Until the regular class crew squads are cut down to the number of men they are to carry till the races, the Weld crews can not be made up. From the '98 regular crew Butler, Fleisham, Gould and Wood have within the last few days joined the Weld, and Kernan, Barney and Elkins have joined from the Freshman crew. One man, Gray 1900, who has been rowing 6 on his Weld class crew, has been taken on to the regular Freshman Squad. The men are at present being coached by Donovan, Leary, Youngman '95, Stevens '97, DuBois '98 and Seaver '98. More coaches are still needed, however, and it is hoped that in response to the notice published today more men will appear.

Hereafter all members of the club will be required to present their tickets at the gate before entering the house to take out boats. This precaution has been found necessary to prevent the use of club property by men who are not members of the club. Candidates for the crews who have spoken to the officers about joining may get their tickets from the janitor. Any member of the University may join at Amee's bookstore at any time.
