At the end of this year the Carey Building will pass into the hands of the Department of Mining. The building will be altered during the summer. The present cage will be fitted up for a metallurgical laboratory. What is now the hand-ball room will be made into a lecture room on the ground floor and a drafting room will be built above it. The dressing rooms down stairs are to be used as store-rooms.
The large locker room in the second story will be altered for a library and a laboratory of Economic Geology will be located on this floor. The tank will remain as it is for the present, but will be floored over eventually for a chemical laboratory.
