The Winter Tennis Club of Newton will hold an indoor open handicap tournament at its club court, in Bray's Hall, Newton Centre, beginning March 1.

The tournament will be for men's handicap singles, and if the entries warrant it, the management hopes to provide for scratch doubles. The entrance fee will be $1 for singles and $2 for each pair in doubles, and must accompany each entry. If no doubles are played, the entrance fee in doubles will be refunded.

Entries must be received by the secretary, W. H. Rice, Newton Centre, on or before Thursday evening, Feb. 25. Suitable prizes will be presented.

Matches will be best two in three sets, except in the finals, which will be best three in five-odd sets and all sets in the final match to be deuce and vantage. Play will commence each day at 2.30 and 7.30 p. m.

The handicaps of the National Association will be used wherever possible.
