The joint debate committee of the Yale Union has accepted a design for a trophy which is to be presented to those members of the union who represent it in intercollegiate debates. This trophy will be presented every year after the intercollegiate debate between Harvard and Yale, and also between Yale and Princeton.
It consists of a gold watch charm in the shape of an old Greek coin. The obverse of the coin bears in relief the head of Demosthenes, and the reverse is to be engraved with the name and class of the debater, together with the debate and date thereof in which he took part. As there was no profile view of Demosthenes obtainable it was necessary to make a drawing from one of the busts on exhibition at the Yale Art School.
