Some eighty men applied to Professor de Sumichrast in Sanders Theatre yesterday afternoon for supernumary positions in "Athalie," the play to be given next month under the direction of the French Department. Rehearsals of the whole play are to be held Nov. 22, 24, 26, 29 and Dec. 1. On Friday, Dec. 3, there will be a public rehearsal and the performances will take place on the 6th, 8th and 10th. The list of squads will be posted today on the French bulletin boards in Sever and both squads are requested to meet promptly at 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in Sanders Theatre.
A number of changes will be made in the theatre for the production of the play. The present stage will be built out and enlarged and as it has been found impracticable to use a drop curtain, one which can be drawn aside will be substituted.
Professor de Sumichrast has announced that the participants in the play will be allowed reductions in their French courses. Men desiring information on the matter will apply to him.
