A special index, published by the University will be put on sale this morning at the Cambridge bookstores. This index is published as alterations to the usual form of the University Catalogue have delayed its publication till February 15, and it is thought necessary to have an authentic directory as early as possible. The index contains lists of the Governing Boards and Officers of the University, lists of students by departments, and the usual directory of officers and students.
From the general summary it is seen that since the table of University Representation was published there has been an increase of 9 in the College proper, 3 in the Scientific School, 1 in the Divinity School, 1 in the Law School, 10 in the Medical School and 1 in the Bussey Institution. The total registration is thus brought up to 3828, which with 7 deducted for names inserted more than once, gives 3821 as against 3674 of last year, a clear gain of 147.
