Freshman Football.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yesterday afternoon the candidates for the Freshman Football Team were divided into six squads and had their first practice on Soldiers Field. The work was light, consisting of dropping on the ball and breaking through. Afterwards a short run was taken.

Several men who had not put their names down at the meeting came out, increasing the squad considerably. The practice was rather ragged, but the men played with a good deal of snap and for the first day's work it was decidedly encouraging. No regular coaches superintended the work, but Crane, who has coached the freshman elevens of the last two years, will probably be on hand today.
