Gymnasium Exercise.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The class which meets every afternoon at 5 o'clock for exercise in the gymnasium is larger than it has been for several years. The work is conducted by Mr. Dohs, and consists of dumb bell exercise and wand drill on alternating afternoons. After the drill the class goes through work on the ladders, practices hurdling and vaulting over boxes and closes the exercise by a run around the track in the gymnasium.

Mr. Dohs intended to have a class at 4 o'clock for heavier exercise, but owing to the irregularity with which the men attended, the idea has been given up at least till after Christmas.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, Mr. Dohs conducts a class in fencing with foils. So far the work has consisted only in preliminary practice in attack and defence, and fair progress has been shown. Otherwise the work is done individually. There seems to be an unusually large number of good men exercising in this way. Mr. Dohs is in the gymnasium to give instruction every afternoon after two o'clock.
