The collection of pictures on the walls of the stairway leading up to the Library Reading Room has been enlarged by photographs of the church of St. Saviour's, Southwark, London, and by a view of the town of Southwark, including many noted buildings. The gift is due to the kindness of Mr. James Atkins Noyes, of the class of '83, who has recently returned from Fngland.
St. Saviour's Church is of especial interest, for here John Harvard was baptized in 1607, and his father, Robert Harvard, was buried in 1625. The view of the section of the town of Southwark contains the church and the Priory of St. Saviour's and the Winchester House and London Bridge in the seventeenth century. The Thomas a Becket Chapel and the Woods Tower can also be seen, together with many other old and historic places.
