Yesterday afternoon the Freshman eleven lined up for fifteen minutes against a scrub team composed partly of 'Varsity men. The interference for 1901 was weak at times and there was a marked tendency towards individual playing in place of team work. After this the first eleven ran through their signals and then lined up against the second for a few minutes play. The work in this line-up showed a marked improvement over their playing against the scrub eleven. The forwards interfered well for the runners and the backs showed up better both in the quickness of their play and in the interference for one another.
The line-up for today's game against Groton is as follows:
W. S. Lawrence, Whitney, r. e.; J. Lawrence, r. t.; Talbot, r. g.; Kasson, c.; Peyton, l. g.; Brayton, l. t.; Hawkins, l. e.; Hallowell, q. b.; White, l. h. b.; Ellis, r. h. b.; Reid, f. b.
