Freshman Debating Club.

The Freshman Debating Club met last night in Sever 11 for the election of officers for the first half-year. The officers of last year's club had charge of the meeting. Those elected were:

President, J. H. A. Symonds; vice-president, C. L. Thurston; secretary, E. E. Coolidge; treasurer, J. J. O'Donnell; to serve as the fifth member of the executive committee, A. Cook; member of advisory committee to serve the entire year, J. A. O'Gorman.

Senator Thurston of Nebraska, was present as a visitor. The club has now one hundred and five members and is in a very flourishing condition.

The question for Nov. 22 will be, "Resolved, that the United States should own and operate our railroads." Speakers for the affirmative: W. A. Heilprin and A. Cook; negative, R. W. Cheney and L. M. Dougan.
