The following letter has been sent by the committee appointed for that purpose to the parents of Ernest James Rice 1900, who died last summer:

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Rice:
The Class of Nineteen Hundred of Harvard University extend to you their deepest sympathy in the death of your son, Ernest James Rice.
Naturally quiet and unassuming, he was esteemed by his classmates for his cheerful disposition and sterling devotion to duty. His life remains with us as an example of fidelity and conscientious endeavor.
