A petition to the faculty requesting the extension of the Thanksgiving recess from Wednesday to the following Monday was signed by 664 students. The faculty, however, instead of making the recess longer than usual, have shortened it to one day. Their meaning probably is that, while the students complained because the journey to and from home consumed in most cases the whole time granted, it ought not to be a great hardship to spend the day in Cambridge.
