8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
Yesterday the Freshman crew squad was reduced from 39 to 27 candidates. Three crews remain with three men left over. Two are made up of the men who rowed before the holidays, with three or four exceptions; the third crew is composed of football men.
The first and second crews are rowing at present in the following order:
FIRST. SECOND.
Boardman, stroke, Saltonstall.
Higginson, 7, Forbes.
Tilton, 6, Fabian.
Heath, 5, Palmer.
Swain, 4, Grey.
Gilder, 3, Adsit.
Biddle, 2, Bedford.
Byrd, bow, Robinson.
The football men have not as yet been assigned to any regular positions. These men besides the above were retained: Trainer, Barney, Curtis, Kernan, Brown, Hunt, Porter, and Runnell.
All the candidates met in the Trophy Room of the Gymnasium at seven thirty, when Captain Goodrich spoke to them about the importance of keeping up their interest in rowing. Because a man does not make his Freshman crew is no sign that he will not make his class crew or the 'Varsity another year. It is important for every one to give an enthusiastic support to the crews, if rowing is to be made successful.
