The University of Wisconsin 'varsity crew which is to race the Yale Freshmen next Thursday was expected at New Haven last night and will today begin work on Lake Saltonstall where the race will be rowed.
A special boat house has been built at Lake Saltonstall and a switch track is in readiness for the special cars of the Wisconsin men, who will eat and sleep on their private cars while practising for the race.
George T. Marsh, the substitute for the Yale 'varsity crew, who was prevented from accompanying the 'varsity crew to England by a faculty decree, has been coaching the Yale freshmen the past week. George Adee is expected on Monday.
The make-up of the Yale crew has been finally decided on as follows: Stroke, T. D. Hewett, Brooklyn; No. 7, W. S. Griswold (captain), Erie, Pa.; No. 6, Nelson Howard, New Haven; No. 5, H. Parkhurst, Hartford; No. 4, K. W. Slocovitch, Brooklyn; No. 3, A. F. Way, Westfield, Mass.; No. 2, T. Wright, Buffalo; bow, W. K. Sturges, Providence; coxswrin, L. F. Greene, Albion, N. Y.
