NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Newport defeated the College Nine Saturday afternoon by the score of 14 to 4. They clinched the game at the start on errors by Harvard and their own good base running, and in the eighth struck a pretty batting streak. McBride was effective, but was struck by a pitched ball and replaced by Gallagher, who allowed no safe hits in three innings.

The score by innings:

Innings, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Newport, 3 4 2 0 0 0 0 5-14

College Nine, 0 2 1 1 0 0 0 0-4
