The College Nine was defeated last Saturday at Newton by the Newton A. A. team, the score being 10 to 5. The Newton's played a strong game and batted Gregory freely, making four runs in the first inning. In the seventh inning having a lead of eight runs, Captain Waters of the Newton team changed the battery of Dowd and Draper for Johnson and Cushing, who allowed the College Nine only three additional runs. The score by innings was:
