The College Nine was defeated last Saturday at Newton by the Newton A. A. team, the score being 10 to 5. The Newton's played a strong game and batted Gregory freely, making four runs in the first inning. In the seventh inning having a lead of eight runs, Captain Waters of the Newton team changed the battery of Dowd and Draper for Johnson and Cushing, who allowed the College Nine only three additional runs.
