Student Volunteer Conference.

The second conference of students engaged in volunteer charity educational and religious work met at Professor Peabody's house last evening. Professor Peabody spoke especially of the unobtrusive but really effective character of the work that is being done under the auspices of the Student Volunteer Committee. Mr. L. K. Morse '91 spoke of the opportunities for volunteer work by lawyers. Mr. L. M. Friedman told of Boys' Club work in Boston. Mr. G. Randolph Coolidge '83 spoke on the problem of the housing of the poor. Addresses were made by J. L. O'Brien '96, and J. C. Ward '96 on Boys' Clubs; H. C. Wright, Div., on Associated Charities Visiting; A. L. Wetherby, Div., on the Adaptability of Associated Charity Work to Small Towns; A. O. Lovejoy '95, on Home Libraries; E. E. Rice '97, on Entertainment Work; H. S. Pearson '93, on the South End House, and Sunday Afternoon Concerts; H. G. Dorman '96, on the Sailor Missions. The conference was closed by a brief address from Dr. Moxom. The following officers of the committee for next year were announced. Chairman, C. E. Noyes Gr.; secretary, F. R. Stoddard '99; treasurer, D. Fales '97. After the conference refreshments were served.
