Excursion to Mt. Monadnock.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The first of a series of general excursions to be conducted by officers of the Departments of Geology and Geography, and of Mineralogy and Petrography, will be made tomorrow to Mount Monadnock, New Hampshire.

This excursion, primarily for students of glacial geology, is intended also to afford an opportunity to study the type example of a remnant mountain of harder rock left standing above the New England plateau, when the latter was worn down nearly to base-level during a former cycle of erosion. The party will leave this evening, returning tomorrow night. It will be conducted by Mr. J. B. Woodworth.
