Dartmouth, 13; Harvard, 4.

Dartmouth defeated Harvard on Holmes Field yesterday afternoon in the second game of the series by the score of 13 to 4. The inability to hit Croelius and the weakness of Paine and Cozzens in the box lost the game for Harvard.

The 'Varsity played a loose game throughout and disppointed the large crowd of spectators who had come expecting to see them win. In the first four innings Paine was hit for seven singles and two doubles and gave four men bases on balls. In the last four innings Cozzens was hit almost as freely as Paine.

Haughton made a beautiful running backward catch of Adams's high fly in the fourth, but did not at other times cover as much territory as he should have done. Scannell led in the hitting with a single and a double, but did not play as cool a game as usually.

The Dartmouth team was especially strong in the box. After the second inning Croeliuspitched a steady game, allowing but three hits in the first eight innings. He was equally strong at the bat, making three singles and a three bagger out of five times at bat. His three base hit with the bases full was in marked contrast to Paine's strike out in a similar situation.

Harvard's inability to keep the ball on the ground gave the Dartmouth fielders many chances at fly balls; McCornack made four remarkable catches in left field.

The third and sixth innings proved most costly to Harvard. In the former Dartmouth batted through the list. Four hits, a sacrifice, two bases on balls and errors by Scannell and Crawford netted Dartmouth six runs. In the sixth Harvard played worse than during the rest of the game, the loose playing costing four scores.
