The number of new men for the spring football squad was yesterday increased to twenty-five. The practice consisted of the usual preliminary work after which the candidates for the line tried breaking through, while the backs practiced punting, catching and running with the ball. Captain Wrightington took charge of the backs and was assisted by Frank Shaw, and Merriman of the ninety-six eleven who coached the line men.
