Open Evening at the Gymnasium.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Ever since the completion of the addition to the Gymnasium and its opening to the University, it has seemed to Dr. Sargent and others having the Gymnasium in charge, that some public recognition, more than that implied in its constant use, was due Mr. Hemenway.

It was suggested at first that an informal reception, at which Mr. Hemenway should be present, should be held some evening in the gymnasium, but for several reasons, chiefly that of Mr. Hemen way's absence in the South, this was given up. It has been decided, however, that on Wednesday evening, March 11, the gymnasium shall be thrown open for the inspection of members of the university and their friends and the public. The attendants will be present and the lights kept burning from eight until ten o'clock. The whole gymnasium will be open and a very favorable opportunity will thus be given for students to show their friends those parts of the building which, during the regular week-day work, are closed.
