Yesterday the candidates for the University crew rowed in the eight oared barge that has recently been rigged according to English methods. Two crews were taken out and Mr. Lehmann coached each time from the launch. The first crew went out at three, and was made up as follows:
Stroke, Bull; 7, Goodrich; 6, Ames; 5, Hollister; 4, Cameron; 3, McDuffie; 2, Marvin; bow, Hurley.
The second crew went out an hour later. The make-up was:
Stroke, Boardman; 7, McDuffie; 6, Ames; 5, Hollister; 4, Sprague; 3, Hurley; 2, Perkins; bow, Adams.
Thompson and Duffield rowed in a pair oar.
Mr. Lehmann devoted most of his attention towards getting a uniform swing through the boat.
