Yesterday afternoon at Spy Pond, Arlington, the Harvard ice polo team defeated the Brown team in the second of the series in the dual league between Harvard and Brown. The first game was won by Brown, so that a third game is now necessary to decide the championship.

The passing of the Harvard team was excellent and the team work showed a great improvement over that of the previous games.

The playing at first was loose on the part of the Harvard team, and Brown succeeded in making a goal two minutes after the play began. Then Harvard braced up and at the end of the first half the score was one all. In the second half Harvard made three goals by hard playing and good team work, while Brown only made one. Goodridge and Clarkson, played the best game for Harvard, and Matteson and Hale for Brown.

The line-up follows:

HARVARD BROWN.

Clarkson '99, r. r., Hale.

Goodridge '98, r. r., Matteson.

E. W. Stevens L. S. S., c. c., Hunt.

E. Clark '96, h. b. h. b. Jones.

C. E. Baldwin '99, g. g., Watson.

Goals-Harvard: Clarkson 3, Goodridge 1. Brown: Matteson 1, Hale 1. Time, two twenty minute halves. Referee, Jewell.
