The College Republican, the official organ of the American Republican College league, has just announced an offer of several prizes, amounting altogether to $120.00, for the best essays written by college students on subjects connected with the protective tariff, the gold standard in finance, or any other recognized Republican principle.

The competition is open to candidates for any degree in any college or university in the United States.
