Tomorrow the first Sunday evening service of the year will be held in Appleton Chapel at 7.30 p. m. It is the custom at the first service to have the sermon preached by a member of the retiring Board of Preachers, and tomorrow it will be given by the Rev. Mr. Crothers, who, with the Rev. Dr. Donald and the Rev. Dr. McPherson, will leave the board.
The members of the Board of Preachers for the coming year are: Bishop John H. Vincent, of Topeka, Kansas (Methodist Episcopal); Rev. S. M. McConnell, D. D., of Brooklyn, N. Y. (Protestant Episcopal); Rev. P. S. Moxom, of Springfield, Mass. (Congregational); Rev. George Hodges, D. D., of Cambridge (Protestant Episcopal); Rev. W. W. Fenn, of Chicago, III. (Unitarian).
On Tuesday morning the chapel service will be devoted to the memory of Professor J. D. Whitney and on Wednesday to the memory of Professor F. J. Child.
