Since the entries for the Duplicate Whist Tournament are not so numerous as is desired, it has been decided to extend the time for closing the entries until 6 p.m. Thursday. Another reason for making this extension is that, as there is a good prospect of a duplicate tournament with Yale, some may desire to enter who have not yet made arrangements so to do. With such a contest in view, surely all who play whist at all should try for a place on the team which is to represent Harvard. Inasmuch as the team will probably consist of eight men, there will be a good chance to win a place.
The committee has heard of some adverse criticism as to the amount of the entrance fee for the tournament. But, since all the money received from entrance fees is devoted to the purchase of prizes, and four prizes, two firsts and two seconds, have to be purchased, the sum of fifty cents a man does not seem exorbitant.
TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE.
