Crew Notes.

The 'varsity and all the class crews were on the river yesterday. The 'varsity was arranged as follows: Stroke, Perkins '91; 7, Kelton '93; 6, Vail '93; 5, Rantoul '92; 4, Powers '92; 3, Shaw '94; 2, Newell '94; bow, Jones '92.

Lynam was absent and Newell took his place at 2. The crew rowed down to the bridge of the B. and A. Railroad, then spent 20 minutes in learning to feather. Short drills will be given in feathering for a few days, then the men will row the full stroke.

Of the class crews the ninety-three men show the best body work, but '91 has decided advantage on blade work.

The '92 crew makes the poorest showing as yet. There is need of a decided brace up. The men are built to row, and there is no reason why they should not make a boat go fast.

The freshmen are looking well for the second day out. They are rowing with stationary seats, as the 'varsity did at first. Carpenter L. S., steered the barge and coached the men.
