The Challenge from England.

No news of the challenge from Oxford and Cambridge to Harvard and Yale for an international field meeting in America next September, beyond that already published, had been received by the Harvard athletic authorities up to a late hour last night. This fact in itself shows pretty conclusively that the report that a copy of the challenge had been sent by cable to Harvard and Yale was incorrect, as it should have arrived yesterday at the latest. That a formal challenge has been sent by mail there is no reason to doubt.
