The executive committee of the Cercle Francais has formed the project of inviting every year some eminent French man of letters to deliver several lectures before the University under the auspices of the Cercle. During the last few years the club has been steadily growing larger and the proceeds of the plays performed in public have been increasing, until now the club has several hundred dollars to the good. Besides this money which the club has in its immediate possession, persons in New York who are interested in the project have promised fifteen hundred dollars more. A similar subscription may be made in Boston. Professor Bocher is going abroad next summer and has consented to speak to some possible lecturers in person.

Another plan is to engage permanent rooms for the club. A meeting of the whole Cercle will be held next week, probably on Wednesday, for the discussion of both projects.
