The game between Harvard and Brown Saturday which was played on Lincoln Field, Providence, resulted in a victory for Harvard by the score of 7 to 0.

Harvard won by good fielding and timely hitting. The team played a hard, skillful game, and the team work was excellent, although the team made but 5 hits with a total of eight, every chance that offered was taken. The coaching was careful and throughout Highlands pitched a strong game and was given good support by Scannell behind the bat, Whittemore played a fine game, his assist and put out in a double play in the fifth inning being a feature of the game. He stole three bases every one of which counted.

Rand made a star catch of a long drive by Donovan. Adams made three errors, none of which happened to be costly.

Brown was very weak in team work, but the outfield put up a good game, Fultz covering center field in admirable style. Lowney and Bustard played well. Summersgill pitched a good game, allowing only five hits, but he was wild throughout the game, and was saved a very hard score by Lauder's good work behind the bat.

Harvard secured two runs in the second inning after Highlands had gone out out from pitcher to first. Burgess reached first on Donovan's error, stole second and went to third on a wild pitch. Hayes came to bat after Wrenn had struck out and knocked out a pretty home run over the score board, the first made on the grounds this year.

Only three Brown men went to bat in the third half, all going out to first.

Whittemore added another run to Harvard's score in the next inning. He was given a base on balls, stole second and took third on a wild pitch. Scannell knocked a long fly to left, on which Whittemore scored.

Adams drove a hard grounder down to Lowney, which was not handled in time to put out the batter, and Rand followed by a hit. Scannell's hot grounder was too much for Steere, and the first two men scored. Scannell was thrown out at second by Lauder. The side was retired by Stevenson going out to Bustard.

Steere got a neat single after Cook had struck out and Summersgill drove a hard one to Whittemore, who picked it up beautifully, touched second and made double with Stevenson at first. Highlands and Burgess flied out in the sixth inning and Wrenn got a hit, but was put out, Lauder to Donovan, on attempting to steal second. Donovan and Robinson knocked up flies and Highlands struck Bustard out.

By a hit and an error Harvard secured two more runs in the eighth. Whittemore knocked a clean hit to center, which might have been good for two bases but for a running stop by Fultz, and Scannell knocked a grounder to Lowney who attempted to get Whittemore at second, Whittemore stole the base easily and ran toward third between Donovan and Lowney.

In the play Lowney dropped the ball, however, and Whittemore got back to second in safety. Stevenson knocked a high fly to Fultz, but Whittemore crossed the plate before the ball could be returned, and Scannell scored on Highlands' long fly to right field. The side was retired on a similar fly to Lauder.

In the last inning Wrenn went out on a fly to Donovan, and Hayes knocked a long fly to center which Fultz captured. Adams reached first on Donovan's fumble of a grounder, but Rand went out to Cook.

Brown's last chance to score and prevent a shutout was cut short. Bustard knocked an easy one to Adams and Lauder struck out. Lowney hit a sharp grounder to Highlands, who picked it up neatly and touched first base, retiring the side and ending the game.
