NEW HAVEN, CONN., May 27. - Captain Thorne, of the Yale football eleven, tonight said in answer to the question whether he had given the answer of Harvard to Yale's request for retraction:
"Harvard's answer will be published first in the Yale News, and the press can take it from that."
The News has as yet seen no signs of the correspondence. Captain Thorne says that Yale's letter will surely be given to the public after Harvard's answer is received.
