CREW NOTES.

The order of the 'varsity crew was again changed yesterday. Hollister is not yet able to take his place in the boat, and R. H. Stevenson continues at stroke. Shepard rowed 7; Perkins, 6; Jennings, 5; Watriss, 4; Lewis 3; Fennessy, 2; Bullard, bow.

The four bow men presented an excellent appearance in their body work and watermanship, Shepard, however, is not rowing well. His blade work and body work are both bad and do not seem to be improving.

Freshman Crew Statistics.The statistics of the members of the freshman crew, in the order that they rowed yesterday, are given below:

H. Adams, stroke, comes from Boston, and prepared for Harvard at Groton, where he rowed on the school crew. He is 19 years of age, weighs 152 pounds, and is 5 ft. 7 in. in height.

S. L. Fuller, No. 7, is also from Boston, and prepared at Andover. He is 19 years of age, weighs 167 lbs., and is 5 ft. 10 in. in height.

O. S. Seaver, No. 6, of Waban, entered from Newton High School. He is 19 years of age, weighs 181 lbs., and is 5 ft. 10 3/4 in. in height.

F. L. Ames, No. 5, and captain of the crew, is from Boston. Last year he was captain of the Groton crew. He is 18 years of age, weighs 174 lbs., and is 5 ft. 11 3/4 in. in height.

D. M. Goodrich, No. 4, is from Cambridge. Last year he was captain of the "Shattucks" at St. Paul's School. He is 18 years of age, weighs 165 lbs., and is 6 ft. 1 in. in height.

A. H. Rice, No. 3, of Boston, entered college from Noble's School. He rowed two years on the B. A. A. "Juniors," and one year on the regular B. A. A. eight. He is 19 years of age, weighs 165 lbs., and is 5 ft. 11 in. in height.

C. C. Bull, No. 2, is from San Francisco, and prepared for college at the Belmont School in California. He is 18 years of age, weighs 158 lbs, and is 5 ft. 9 in. in height.

J. Adams, bow, comes from Boston and prepared at Groton, where he was on the crew. He is 19 years of age, weighs 150 lbs., and if 5 ft. 6 1/2 in. in height.

The substitutes are: G. H. Scull, of Boston, 18 years of age, weighs 162 lbs., and is 5 ft. 11 in. in height; H. McBurney, of New York, 19 years of age, weighs 147 lbs., and is 5 ft. 9 1/2 in. in height; J. R. Proctor, Jr., of Washington, D. C., 19 years of age, weighs 151 lbs., and is 5 ft. 9 in. in height; A. W. Davis, of Roxbury, 20 years of age, weighs 163 lbs., and is 6 ft. in height; and C. A. Hurley, of Lynn, 20 years of age, weighs 150 lbs., and is 5 ft. 9 in. in height.

The crew has not shown any remarkable improvement since they began rowing on the river, although they have had the most careful coaching from Kidder '92, and Mr. Watson. The tendency of the men throughout the boat is still to row their oars out of the water badly at the finish. The discipline of the crew is apparently lax when the men are rowing, and the time is often bad because of the tendency of several men to look out of the boat, a habit of inattention which cannot be too strongly condemned in a freshman crew just beginning its work on the river.

Junior Crew.The junior crew is again under the charge of Mr. Mumford. During his absence, the first week on the river, the crew was coached by Captain Forbes, whose place at No. 7 was filled by Jones.

No changes have been made during the last three weeks, and the men are getting accustomed to their positions. The chief faults of the crew as a whole are poor time, and a bad hang at the full reach. The men have a tendency to rush their slides and do not get a firm drive with their legs.

The watermanship is pretty poor as yet, especially among the new men, Stillman, Fox and Mann, none of whom have ever rowed before.

The crew went to the training table at Miss Lappin's, on Mt. Auburn street, yesterday. Only eight men were taken. The men with their order and weights are:

Senior Crew.The ninety-five crew has been coached by F. Davis and W. M. Briggs the past few days. Yesterday, however, Capt. Cameron coached. The men rowed in the following order:
