Freshman Baseball Notes.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The freshman baseball candidates have begun regular out-door practice on Soldiers Field. At stated hours they have the use of one of the two diamonds which have been laid out for the 'varsity, and as soon as the 'varsity returns to Holmes Field the freshmen will have the entire use of both diamonds.

The prospects for a good nine are better than usual, and several good men are at present with the 'varsity squad. There are now about forty candidates trying for positions on the team, but the squad will be reduced the middle of this week. From present appearances the nine will be a strong fielding team, but it is too early as yet to judge how strong it will be at the bat.

Attempts are being made to arrange a training table for the team, which shall begin the first of May and continue until after the second game with Princeton.
