A reduction was made yesterday in the number of 'varsity crew candidates, only eleven men being retained. This is doubtless a preparatory step to going on the water.
The make-up of the crew now is: Stroke, Hollister '97; 7, Stevenson '97; 6, Shepard '96; 5, Perkins '98; 4, Manning '95; 3, Jennings '98; 2, Fennessy '96; bow, Bullard '96, and three substitutes, Lewis '96, Damon Gr., and Webb L. S. These are the men from whom Mr. Watson will pick his eight. Watriss L. S., who is laid off on account of a strain, may begin rowing again next week. The six men who were dropped will commence training at once for their class crews.
