The number of candidates for the 'varsity nine has been reduced. The men who are still in training are, for the field positions, Anderson '97, Burgess '98, Beale '97, Brown '95, Dean '97, McCarthy '96, Garrison '97, Hayes '96, Haskell '98, Eskridge L. S., Lacy L. S., Lord '97, Manning '98, Rand '98, Stevens '97, Stevenson '96, Selfridge '97, Winslow '96, and Wrenn '96; catchers, Buckman '96, Scannell '97, Henry '96, and Scott '97; pitchers, Cozzens '98, Ames '96, Highlands '95, Lamprey '98, and Paine '97.
At present the men are practicing in the cage of the Carey Building, and all are coached by Captain Whittemore except the pitchers and catchers, who are under Mr. Keefe's care. Colonel Winslow will take charge of the nine April 1.
At the meeting of the executive committee of the Tennis Association Saturday it was voted to allow the use of four tennis courts on Jarvis Field for the early out- door practice.
