Mr. C. T. Copeland will deliver the first of his series of lectures on English Literature this evening in Sever 11 at 8 p. m.

The subject announced for tonight's lecture is 'The Friendships of Young Men in Literature."

The following lectures to be delivered later have already been announced:

Dec. 11. Stevenson, Mr. Barrie, "IanMaclaren," and Mr. Crockett.

Dec. 18. Emerson and Carlyle.

Other subjects for lectures after the racess will be announced soon.

None of these lectures are open to the public.

The chief object of these lectures is to stimulate interest in literature, and particularly to encourage critical discussion of such matters of literary consequence as may from time to time arise. A secondary object is to suggest lines of reading to such members of the University as desire some knowledge of English Literature without the minute study demanded by the regular courses of instruction.
