The Mermaid Club is to be reorganized this year under a new system, so as to increase the scope of the club by having a larger number of men interested. Formerly meetings were held once a week, but were restricted to club members. By the new plan there are to be two kinds of meetings, regular meetings and others of a more public character. The former are to be held only once a month. The programme will vary considerably, but, in general, the subjects to be discussed will deal with the contemporary drama.

In addition to these closed meetings there will be more open ones on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. These latter will be open to all members of English 14 without need of election. Others who wish to attend these meetings must apply to the secretary, R. H. E. Starr L. S., 35 Hastings Hail. The work at the open meetings will consist of reading and discussion of the authors to be taken up in English 14 during the ensuring two weeks. The men admitted to these meetings will be styled associate members, and from their numbers regular members will be chosen, although this preliminary stage is not a necessary requirement for regular membership.

The first open meeting will be held Friday, Nov. 8 at 8 o'clock in 35 Hastings Hall. All members of English 14 are invited to be present.
