A debating league between seven leading New England colleges was organized in Boston University on Saturday. The colleges represented are Boston University, Boston College, Tufts, Brown, Wesleyan, Bowdoin and Bates.
The constitution arranges for a seires of debates to be held in the various places where the colleges are situred. The preliminary debates are to be held Jan. 15 or thereabouts. The winners in these will contest in semi-finals on March 15, and those victorious at this time will contest for final honors on May 15. A trophy will be given to the champion. The officers elected are: President, C. J. Thorne; vice-president, G. R. Hudson; secretary, E. A. Andrews; treasurer, J. F. Chase.
