Since last June more than 1,500 volumes have been added to the Brown University Library. For 500 of the new books the college is indebted to Professor John Pierce, formerly professor of chemistry in the university. During the fall and winter many new books will be added, and it is expected that by Jan. 1, 1896, the total number of volumes will reach 82,000.
