Lecture by Mr. Eliot.

An illustrated lecture on The Scenery of the Neighborhood of Boston will be given by Mr. Charles Eliot on Tuesday, October 29, at 8 p. m., in the Jefferson Physical Laboratory.

This is the first of a series of lectures to be given under the auspices of the Committee on the Reception of Students, and intended primarily for new-comers to the University.

The lecture will be open to the public.

This is practically the first lecture of the kind that has been given at Harvard.

It should prove of universal interest to all students of the University, and especially to those new-comers who are not acquainted with the beautiful and interesting country about Boston and Cambridge. Besides the mere interest attaching to Mr. Eliot's lecture, it will doubtless prove exceedingly instructive. There is much in the vicinity of Boston that is of considerable historical interest. The lecture is to be illustrated by stereopticon views, which will make it still more entertaining.

On Tuesday, November 12, Mr. Edward Robinson will lecture on "The Study of Fine Arts."
