Yale defeated the Orange Athletic Club at Orange Saturday afternoon by a score of 24 to 12. Yale played her strongest team. At the end of five minutes play, after repeated gains around Yale's ends and through the centre, Hopkins of Orange carried the ball over the line. Mintzer kicked the goal. Yale braced up and by good work on the part of Thorne, DeWitt, and Letton succeeded in making two touchdowns before the end of the half. Letton missed both goals. In the second half Orange kicked off. Thorne got the ball and on the next play ran 70 yards for a touchdown. This time Letton kicked the goal. After six minutes more Thorne made another touchdown. No goal. Shortly after this Orange scored again. Mohr blocked Letton's punt, and Lamson fell on the ball on Yale's 8 yard line. Bird went through the centre for a touchdown, and later kicked the goal. Yale scored once more. Orange lost the ball on their 5 yard line. Brown soon carried the ball over the line.
