The Massachusetts Institute of Technology gets $20,000 and Tufts College $10,000 by the will of Thomas O. P. Burnham, the Boston second-hand bookseller, who had a bookstall for so many years under the Old South Church. On the outside, at least, his bookstall was a most unpretentious affair, out of which it seemed possible that a thrifty person might get a modest living; but Mr. Burnham found more in it than that, for his estate exceeded $600,000,- all left for charitable or for public uses.
