M. I. T. Tennis Tournament.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology Tennis Association began its annual tennis tournament yesterday afternoon on the Jarvis Field courts. The play will be continued the rest of this week. Matches played today were as follows.

Preliminary Round.Smith beat F. E. Underwood 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.

J. P. Underwood beat Hall, 6-2, 6-0.

Delano beat Hubbard by default.

Johnson beat Palmer 6-8, 6-3, 6-4.

First Round.Eames beat Munroe, 6-3, 6-2.

Jones beat Watrons by default.

Ferris beat Blood 6-1, 6-1.

Davis beat Tew 6-2, 6-4.

Burch beat Wing by default.

Bean beat Shedd by default.

Currier beat Richmond, 6-9, 6-2.

Jackson beat Jones 6-1, 7-5.
