The team match between the Harvard and Boston Chess Clubs will take place this evening at 7.30, in the rooms of the Boston Chess Club, 18 Boylston place, (just off Boylston street, between Park square and Tremont street). The Harvard team is made up of S. M. Ballou, F. F. Davis, E. P. Fay, J. Hewins, H. Lewis, G. S. Mumford, J. Peck, A. W. Ryder, L. B. Shoenfeld, T. Spalding, W. W. Stevens, W. L. Van Kleeck. The Boston Chess Club extends a most cordial invitation to all members of the University interested in chess, to be present and witness the match. It is hoped that a large number of men will take interest enough to accept the invitation.

Press Association.A meeting of the Harvard Press Association was held last evening in University 16. Twenty charter members signed the constitution. The following officers were elected:

President, Pierre LaRose; vice-president, C. M. Flandrau; secretary and treasurer, L. W. Mott; executive committee, officers ex-officio, and E. H. Warren, A. S. Pier, A. K. Moe, and a correspondent of an outside paper is to be elected at the next meeting.

It was voted to invite Mr. Copeland to give the first smoke talk before the last of December.

Freshman Banjo Club. The candidates for the Freshman Banjo Club were given a trial the last two evenings and nineteen men were taken on for further trial. The material is very good and with the men who are now playing on the 'varsity the chances of a good club are excellent. The following are the successful candidates: Banjeaurines, S. S. Hinds, F. T. Case, R. B. Flershem, N. Perkins; banjos, A. B. Emery, A. F. Barnes, R. Johnson, R. K. Albright, F. Curtis, F. Merrill, A. T. Legg, E. L. Millard, Ely; guitars, G. C. Ward, H. F. Hooper, W. H. Rand, T. R. Brower, E. Byrnes, L. A. Brown.

The league was not very active last year, but it is being revived and will have at least twenty members this year. No definite work was decided on last night, but several public meetings will probably be held, at which influential men will be asked to speak.

St. Paul's Society. This year the St. Paul's Society will devote two meetings a month to lectures on various subjects connected with church history. These lectures are opened tonight by the Rev. Geo. Hodges, D. D., Dean of the Episcopal Theological School, who will begin a series of addresses on the history of the Prayer Book. Dean Hodges is an interesting speaker and his lectures promise to be both enjoyable and instructive. They will be given in Grays 17, at 6.45 p. m., and all members of the University are cordially invited.

Freshman Mandolin Club. The following men have been taken on for further trial: Brower, Byrnes, Hooper, Rand, Wright, Schwab, Burnett, White, Bowker. Notice of rehearsal later.
