The first session of the International Athletic Congress occurred at the Sorbonne, Paris, last Saturday afternoon. Baron de Courcel, who presided, outlined the purposes of the congress and stated that he hoped the delegates would endeavor to establish international athletic championships. Nearly three thousand persons were present, among them being Professor Sloane of Princeton.
